    GrindingHub 2022 passes further milestone – Numerous grinding technology market leaders already on board

    GrindingHub, the new leading trade fair for grinding technology in Stuttgart, has passed a further milestone. "Barely two months after the registration documents were sent out, numerous market leaders have already signed up for GrindingHub. This means that Stuttgart is already set to become the heart of the grinding technology sector," said a delighted Dr Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director of the organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association), Frankfurt am Main.

    Deutsche Hersteller von Schleiftechnik nehmen Schwung auf

    Im ersten Quartal 2021 stieg der Auftragseingang der deutschen Schleiftechnik im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum um 13 Prozent. Dabei sanken die Bestellungen aus dem Inland um 8 Prozent. Die Auslandsorders notierten 20 Prozent über Vorjahr.

    Orders received by the German grinding technology industry in the first quarter of 2021 were 13 per cent up on the same period last year. Orders from Germany fell by 8 per cent. Foreign orders, however, were 20 per cent higher than in the previous year.

Der dadurch neu entwickelte Wälzschleifprozess erzeugt ein immenses wirtschaftliches und wissenschaftliches Potential.

    A new tool grinding technology process is currently being developed to reduce excessive non-productive times and increase productivity in tool production. It is based on work carried out by Dr.-Ing. Mirko Theuer of the IFW (Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools, Leibniz University of Hannover) for his dissertation. The resulting new generating grinding process holds enormous business and scientific potential.

    In the last few days the VDW has sent out registration forms to potential GrindingHub exhibitors all over the world. “We first presented our trade fair concept just four weeks ago, and since then we have succeeded in creating the registration forms for the new GrindingHub and distributing them within record time,” reports VDW Executive Director Dr. Wilfried Schäfer.

    Starting in 2022 – GrindingHub in Stuttgart

    GrindingHub, the first edition of the new leading trade fair and the center for grinding technology, will be held from 17 to 20 May 2022 in Stuttgart. It is scheduled to be run every two years by the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association), Frankfurt am Main, in cooperation with Messe Stuttgart and the “Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology” industry sector of Swissmem (Association of the Swiss Mechanical, Electrical and Metal Industries) as promotional supporter.
